Eagles center Jason Kelce hasn’t officially retired, but one Eagles player says there’s no way he’s coming back.
During Super Bowl 2024 week, Eagles tackle Jordan Mailata said that Kelce won’t suiting up for Philly next fall.
“There’s no shot,” Mailata told NBC Sports Philadelphia. “You’re telling me he’s going shirts off in the games, gambling in the casinos, he’s coming back? No way. He’s having too much fun.
“He’s out there living his life. And I’m going to miss him for sure, man. This has been the greatest six years of my life for sure, being here in the NFL and getting to meet people like Jason Kelce.”
Last week Kelce reportedly met with ESPN, Fox, and Amazon about potential broadcasting deals.
Kelce hasn’t announced his decision yet, so fans and teammates might still be speculating, but Mailata believes Kelce has already made up his mind.
Kelce was selected by the Eagles in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft.
He played all four years of college at the University of Cincinnati, including spending three of those years with his brother Travis.
Both were on the 2009 team, which saw the Bearcats go 12-1 and win the Big East football championship.
Their only loss came in the Sugar Bowl to Florida.
In Philadelphia, Kelce was a six-time first-team All-Pro and a seven-time Pro Bowler, including each of the last five seasons.
Kelce, who has played for the Eagles his entire career, won Super Bowl 2018 with the team and gave a passionate speech in a wild outfit at the parade.
