Back in 2020, former Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Telvin Smith was charged with third-degree child abuse. Today, he has pleaded no contest to child abuse and has been given three years of probation.
To illustrate, the talks date back to April 2020, when he was charged with unlawful sexual activity with certain minors.
According to his attorney, Hank Coxe, his three years long probation was made after waiving off a year due to the time he was out on bond after his arrest.

Back on April 29, 2020, Telvin Smith was arrested by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office at his Jacksonville home. Before that, a seventeen years old accused him of sexually abusing her.
Following it, the case was investigated for six months before his arrest. Additionally, Smith was alleged to have sex on multiple occasions and place with the underage girl.
However, he hasn’t been formally charged or punished to date. As per the sources, all of the 31 arraignments have been postponed every time.

Altogether, Smith had paid a $50,000 bond a year ago. Well, moving on to their case, Smith met the teenager back on August 27, 2019, at her workplace.
Also, as per Smith’s arrest warrant, the two talked several times on the phone and the social media sites. Moving on, they first met each other officially at a shopping center on the Southside.
Furthermore, the two later drove to Smith’s house, where they had sex in his home’s movie theatre and the bedroom. As the teenager spoke, she stated that Smith handed her $200 and asked her to not tell anyone about the incident.
However, as she refused to take the money, she was pressurized for it. Not to mention, she added that Smith asked her to state their relationship as a mentor and learner if someone asked for it.
Afterward, the teenager called the police on her way back home and narrated the story. Herewith, Telvin Smith was charged with sexual abuse.
In addition, she revealed that they also had sex while they were in the area mall in Smith’s SUV in a nearby parking lot.

This Friday, in Duval County court, Telvin Smith pleaded ‘nolo contendre’ to a charge of third-degree child abuse.
Moreover, his three years probation includes psychosexual counseling. On top of that, he has a list of names that he can’t get in contact with during that timeframe.
To elaborate, Smith also shouldn’t come into a contact with females under the age of 18 outside of his immediate family.
Apart from his current hearing, back in June, Telvin Smith was charged $88,000 for missing the team’s mandatory, three-day minicamp
Back then, he was with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Later, he signed a retirement paper with the team to stop his charges.
Altogether, he stood on the reserve / retired list, and his contract was paused three years of its expiry date. During that tenure, Smith was earning $10 million as an average salary.
